Our client, a leading international consumer business, is seeking a commercially minded Legal Director to help shape the next phase of its global legal function. Reporting to the Group General Counsel, the successful candidate will act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, providing practical, business-aligned legal guidance that supports global growth and ensures compliance across diverse markets.

This role offers the chance to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment where strong legal judgement, commercial insight and effective stakeholder engagement directly influence business performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver clear, commercially focused legal advice on commercial, regulatory and compliance matters across multiple jurisdictions.
• Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams (operations, supply chain, sales, marketing) to drive strategic initiatives and manage risk.
• Lead on complex commercial contracts, regulatory matters and major projects or transactions.
• Oversee governance and ensure adherence to global laws, regulations and internal policies.
• Identify legal and compliance risks and provide practical, business-ready solutions.
• Build productive relationships with regulators, external counsel and industry partners.

Candidate Profile

• Qualified lawyer with 10–15 years’ PQE from a leading law firm.
• In-house experience within a consumer-focused environment is essential.
• Strong background in commercial, regulatory and compliance work.
• Commercially astute, with the ability to balance legal risk and business priorities.
• Experience managing cross-border issues and working internationally.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with influence at senior levels.
• Proactive, collaborative and solutions-driven.
• Experience contributing to legal or organisational transformation is advantageous.
