Marketing Director – Social Impact Organisation

Location: London (Hybrid)

Salary: Up to £100k base, with strong benefits.

We’re proud to be partnering with an organisation that is looking to create meaningful, societal change. Our client is an independent, commercially minded, and ambitious social impact organisation (essentially, a privately funded charity that doesn’t act like a charity!) on a mission to create meaningful change in young people’s lives.

They use data, research and science to show the importance of their mission, and they focus on the practical changes that genuinely shift future life chances, not feel‑good campaigns that don’t move the needle.

They are now hiring their first marketing leader, someone who can build a modern, commercially minded marketing function from the ground up.

The opportunity

This is a brilliant fit for someone with strong commercial private sector experience who wants to move into an impactful, mission‑led business, but without the big salary sacrifice, high politics and slow pace that often come with the charitable sector.

You’ll bring the discipline and ambition of a high‑performing commercial environment into a mission‑driven context where outcomes, not optics, matter most.

What you’ll lead

  • Define and execute a clear marketing strategy that drives real‑world adoption, influence and measurable behaviour change among key professional audiences.

Audience focus – professionals, not donors

  • Design campaigns and engagement journeys aimed at:
  • Doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals
  • Education providers (schools, colleges, training organisations)
  • Social care providers and wider public‑service professionals

Build the marketing engine

  • Create the core infrastructure: CRM, segmentation, messaging, content, digital channels and performance measurement that would look at home in a modern scale‑up.

Behaviour‑change campaigns

  • Lead integrated campaigns (digital, social, PR, events and partnerships) that shift professional practice, not just awareness – and back it with data and insight.

Brand and narrative

  • Shape and evolve a distinctive, modern brand that feels more like a purpose‑led high‑growth business than a traditional charity.

Senior partnership

  • Act as the organisation’s marketing voice at leadership level, advising on communications, positioning and stakeholder engagement.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience building or leading a B2B marketing function, ideally in a high‑growth, data‑led or digitally native organisation.
  • A track record of driving behaviour change in professional audiences – for example in healthcare, education, social care, SaaS, or other service‑led sectors.
  • Strong commercial instincts: comfortable with funnels, conversion, propositions, and performance metrics and unafraid of ambitious targets.
  • Fluency in digital marketing, content, CRM and analytics, with a test‑and‑learn mindset.
  • Excellent storytelling and brand building skills, able to turn complex issues into clear, compelling narratives.
  • A hands‑on, collaborative style: equally happy setting strategy and rolling up your sleeves to get things done.

Why it’s different

  • Impact with teeth: your work will contribute directly to changing future life chances at scale.
  • Startup energy: small, focused team that behaves like a restless startup, not a slow, process‑heavy institution.
  • Commercial mindset: this is a privately funded organisation that does not think or act like a traditional charity; ambition, pace and rigour are expected.

Finally…

This is a targeted search. Please apply only if you meet the essential criteria, we expect high interest and may not be able to respond to everyone individually.
