Operations Director

New Today

About the Company:
Our client manufacturer bespoke, engineered products which are assembled in Leeds.
Following significant investment from their Private Equity owner, the business has successfully transitioned into a high-growth digitally driven manufacruing organisation and are poised to become a multi-product organisation through aggressive New Product Development (NPD) and strategic M&A.
The Role
This is a pivotal senior leadership role with full accountability for factory operations, procurement, and quality. As the business scales toward a multi-product future, you will be responsible for restoring operational stability after a period of rapid change and building the foundation for the next chapter of growth.
Key Objectives:
* Operational Stabilisation: Re-establish control across high-volume assembly and installation. You will own the "root cause" analysis of service tickets and remedial orders, embedding a culture of accountability.
* Scalable Organisation Design: Lead and grow a manufacturing team of 60+, while building a dedicated Quality function from the ground up to support geographic and product expansion.
* Systems Evolution: Play a lead role in the "re-platforming" of the business, implementing a new WMS and barcoded production system to create a data-led manufacturing environment.
* Global Supply Chain & M&A: Transition the supply chain from a single-category focus to a diversified global model. You will lead the operational integration of acquired businesses, including managing outsourced production with partners in Asia.
* NPI & Diversification: Translate the commercial vision for new product launches into a scalable operational reality that delivers consistently at pace.
The Person
We are seeking a low-ego, hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-moving, PE-backed environment. You are a "builder" who enjoys creating processes and systems from a semi-structured base.
Experience & Skills Required:
* Assembly Leadership: Proven track record running an equivalent high-volume assembly facility. You "know what good looks like" and how to get there.
* Change & Turnaround: Experience leading change programmes or turnarounds, ideally within a high-growth or private equity context.
* Global Sourcing Savvy: Hands-on experience managing international supply chains and the complexities of overseas sourcing.
* Technical Literacy: Comfortable deploying operational tech (ERP/WMS/QA) to drive efficiency and transparency.
* B2C Mindset: An obsession with end-to-end quality—ensuring the product is as perfect on the customer's driveway as it was on the factory floor.
The Culture
The business operates with a "stronger together" ethos. They value proactive, solutions-oriented individuals who take real pride in their work. This is a "face-to-face" culture where leadership is visible, data-driven, and deeply committed to continuous improvement
