OverviewAECOM Warrington, United Kingdom. As the Operations Director for the major energy infrastructure programme within the Environment + Energy (E+E) business line in the UK&I region, you will have direct accountability for the financial performance of the business unit. The programme comprises a portfolio of projects delivered under a unified framework and includes staff allocated to delivery. At peak delivery, the programme is expected to generate $20–30m Net Revenue (NSR) annually, with individual projects up to $20m+.Start here. Grow here. This role requires regular travel to Birmingham, as programme leadership is based there.Key ResponsibilitiesEthics & Compliance | Implement and ensure compliance with AECOM Ethics & Compliance policies and procedures.SH&E | Lead by example to drive SH&E culture and ensure effective SH&E policy implementation.Technical Excellence & Quality | Champion technical excellence, work with the Energy digital lead and programme leadership to deliver solutions on time, within cost, and to quality and regulatory standards.Financial Plan | Develop and implement the programme financial plan and outlook with Energy and E+E leadership.Business Performance | Achieve the annual financial plan; monitor performance vs. plan and take action to mitigate issues and maximise opportunities.Bidding | Support WAP/WAF pricing within the programme by contributing to scopes of work alongside the commercial manager.Risk & Opportunities Management | Cultivate a culture to proactively identify, assess, and manage risks and opportunities to EBITA and cash flow.Project Governance | Ensure delivery control through Healthy Starts, contract reviews, risk management, and data quality metrics.Project Manager Development | Ensure training to develop confident, commercially and operationally astute project directors and managers.Commercial Management | Proactively identify and address problem projects; drive change management and resolve commercial disputes with clients.Sources of Revenue | Maintain accuracy of Revenue sources in Salesforce; ensure NSR backlog, forecasts, and phasing are correct for live projects.Resourcing Strategy | Support sustainable resourcing through internal workshare, EC centres, contractors, and hires.SG&A Control | Manage non-labour SG&A costs, including travel, recruitment fees, and indirect procurement.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (engineering, finance, business, etc.) preferred.Operational and business acumen demonstrated through previous experience in project delivery, client account/framework management, operations, finance or P&L management.Team player with a track record of championing values and leadership behaviours; able to build relationships as a trusted business partner.Critical thinker able to solve complex problems, challenge the status quo, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.Ability to influence stakeholders across AECOM’s global business and at all levels.Mentor to others to improve understanding of needs and how to drive performance.Work Model & LocationHybrid work model; regular travel to Birmingham expected.EEO and InclusionWe celebrate diversity and inclusion.
