OverviewPerformance Planning & Optimisation Associate Director is part of the Performance Planning & Optimisation team, reporting to the Performance Director. The Associate Director is responsible for developing and executing digital marketing strategies that align with client objectives across digital channels, analyzing key performance indicators, and using data-driven insights to optimize and improve campaign efficiency. The AD works with the Manager to optimize budgets, communicates regularly with clients, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure a cohesive approach. Staying informed about industry trends and emerging technologies is crucial, and the Director provides comprehensive reports to clients, highlighting key metrics and offering recommendations for future campaigns.The role is integral to driving the success of digital marketing efforts through strategic planning, continuous optimization, and effective communication.Hard SkillsMedia Buying Expertise: Demonstrates a strong understanding of media buying strategies, including programmatic advertising, paid search, and social media advertising, with examples of cross-channel plans.Data Analysis: Proficient in data analysis tools and platforms, deriving insights from campaign data and informing planning and optimisation with maximum investment levels and point of diminishing returns.Budget Management: Competent in managing campaign budgets cross-channel to achieve ROIs, demonstrated by performance relative to benchmarks.Ad Tech Knowledge: Keeps updated on ad tech trends and tools; has produced a POV or presented on a topic at Perf Planning Monthly Meetings.Client Management: Develops strong client relationships and ensures campaigns meet or exceed objectives, demonstrated in ongoing client calls.Soft SkillsCommunication: Communicates effectively with team members, clients, and external partners; coordinates delivery of media plan responses and QBRs.Leadership: Demonstrates emerging leadership by assisting in team coordination and mentoring junior members.Adaptability: Adapts to changes in the digital advertising landscape and proactively addresses challenges (e.g., cookieless solutions, CAPI implementation).Regular TasksCampaign Execution: Oversees campaign setup and execution, aligned with client objectives (range from Ad ops to Finance).Performance Analysis: Analyzes campaign data, making data-driven recommendations for cross-channel optimisations and budget/shifts.Client Reporting: Creates client reports with clear insights and recommendations; develops or improves cross-channel reporting templates.Team Collaboration: Collaborates with the team to ensure task completion, managing workflows in tools like Asana or Excel-based plans.Client Meetings: Participates in client meetings, discussing performance and strategy and communicating clearly to clients.Desired Skills & ResponsibilitiesProven performance and digital media experience, including campaign execution and reporting.Ability to drive projects from conception to completion; project management experience essential.Experience in a global role and market coordination.Strong PPC, Paid Social & Programmatic knowledge encouraged.Strong Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, formatting) and PowerPoint experience.Analytical mindset and ability to handle figures and data.Employee TransparencyAt IPG Mediabrands, we celebrate differences and are committed to championing an inclusive culture that provides belonging for all employees.
