Are you ready to lead the future of water infrastructure? Stantec is a global leader in sustainable design and engineering, and we're looking for a visionary Project Director to join our award-winning Water Sector team. This is more than a job; it's a chance to shape the industry and build a legacy.
We’ve been recognised as the "International Consulting Firm of the Year" and "Best Place to Work" at the 2024 New Civil Engineer Awards. Our success is built on delivering complex, high-impact projects that make a real difference. Stantec’s AMP8 campaign has secured significant opportunities with most UK and Ireland Water Companies. We bring together the talent, expertise and innovation necessary to deliver successful project outcomes. Now, we need your skill and leadership to help drive our next phase of growth.
The role can sit across any of our offices within the region, including London, Cambridge, Brighton, Southampton, Ashford, Kings Hill, Reading, or High Wycombe, with the opportunity to work on significant Strategic Resource Option (SRO) Projects and exciting water frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for delivery on SRO projects and large frameworks, ensuring successful project outcomes.
- Be a strategic and hands-on leader, guiding Project Managers and teams to deliver large-scale projects and programmes, with a focus on design & construction (D&C) environments and contractor engagement.
- Support growth in Stantec’s Major Projects portfolio by leveraging deep D&C experience to build capability and capacity, while managing business risk.
- Collaborate with the Major Projects Discipline & Market Area Director and regional leadership to implement commercial and risk management strategies across projects and programmes.
- Champion best practice, develop new services, and help build a world-class project delivery offering.
About You
- Project leader with a track record in delivering successful Major Projects within a multidisciplinary environment (preferably in the water sector).
- In-depth understanding of design for construction and the commercial acumen to secure successful financial outcomes.
- Ability to manage stakeholder relationships as the primary client contact, with exemplary HSSE management & wellbeing behaviour.
- Chartership status with a relevant institution is ideally held.
- Passionate about leading, mentoring, and making a tangible impact.
