At M Group Energy we're enabling the energy essential to support our lives. We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation. This role will be within our Transmission & Renewables team. We design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity.What you will be doingProject Director in Pembroke to join our Energy Division at M Group, managing multi-disciplinary project teams in the design, construction, extension, and refurbishment of transmission substations.Lead substation projects end-to-end, aligning delivery with M Group's goals and National Grid's standards while inspiring a high-performing team.Create clear project plans, manage budgets, track progress, and adjust quickly to hit milestones and maintain profitability.Provide governance and tools to succeed, identify and solve risks early, ensuring the highest safety and compliance standards across all works.Build strong relationships with stakeholders, from National Grid to suppliers and subcontractors, with transparent communications and support.Mentor and motivate the team, driving collaboration, quality, and environmental excellence, with leadership development supported throughout.What you’ll bringA degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field; a Master’s degree is advantageous.Around 15+ years' experience leading projects in transmission, high-voltage substations (400kV / 275kV), or renewable generation.Knowledge of electrical systems, grid connections, and commissioning; proven track record of delivering major infrastructure on time and on budget.Strong problem-solving, decisive leadership, commercial awareness, and stakeholder management; excellent communication across diverse teams and partners.About us and valuesWe aim to be an employer of choice and a great place to work, attracting diverse and talented people who make a difference.
