Job title: Project Director – Global Client Partnerships
Job Type: Permanent, full time
Reporting to: Head of Global Client Partnerships
Location: Home based. Ideally EU based role – International travel required
Job purpose: The Global Client Partnerships (GCP) Project Director (PD) is the point of contact for a group of established global accounts. The PD will lead the account team, with matrix leadership of an Account Manager and Insights Partners. They will direct project delivery, ongoing client relationships and business development activities focused on depth and expansion. There is line management responsibility for an account manager. The PD will also partner with the VP Strategic Account team to optimise current and future business to deliver excellence in quality and efficiency internally and externally. As part of the global client partnerships team, the PD plays a critical role in the success of the team as a whole and will champion collaboration to deliver excellence for Global clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead delivery and client relationship development for assigned accounts to ensure high-quality client service.
- Maintain regular contact with key client stakeholders, learn about their business and challenges, and identify how STEM can support them; act as the voice of the client within STEM and work to maintain or improve client relationships.
- Develop and execute business development activities to maintain existing business and grow within the assigned accounts; partner with the VP Strategic Accounts to plan BD activities for new areas within global accounts and support smooth transitions from BD to delivery.
- Plan and report on strategic accounts, identify growth opportunities, and support account reviews and deep dives as required.
- Direct projects within accounts, including interviewing client leaders, analyzing data, developing insights, and presenting final reports with strategic recommendations; maintain ongoing client contact.
- Set up and resource projects at the outset and manage progress, ensuring stakeholders are informed about progress.
- Resolve project issues and ensure accounts are managed to deliver excellent service and meet client expectations; coordinate with local STEM colleagues to deliver locally managed projects on time and to a high quality; ensure local teams have sufficient information to run projects per client expectations.
- Track progress against the global account plan against defined quality and delivery measures.
- Work with the Analysis team to interpret data and stress-test hypotheses to produce bespoke presentations and strategic recommendations for the client.
Qualifications and Essential Requirements
- Detailed knowledge of STEM, its clients, its operations and how to develop business for STEM.
- Strong understanding of commercial operations roles and processes within the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
- Results-focused with excellent interpersonal skills to win business.
- Excellent communicator, adaptable to different situations and audiences; able to tell a story and close a deal.
- Strong leadership; comfortable leading cross-functional work and influencing beyond formal authority.
- Active listener with ability to network at high levels and be credible with senior client stakeholders.
- Ambitious, able to work independently but a good team player with leadership skills.
- Gravitas and interpersonal awareness to interact, challenge, advise and deliver solutions.
- Thorough understanding of the STEM methodology.
- Proven success dealing with senior-level stakeholders within clients.
- Proven success developing business consistently or demonstrated potential to develop quickly.
- Experience managing accounts/client relationships to meet client expectations.
