National Grid has engaged us to recruit a Project Director to lead the delivery of a major reinforcement project in East Anglia, an essential component of the Great Grid Upgrade.
This high-profile role will oversee the safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of the Bramford to Twinstead transmission upgrade. Valued at over £500 million, the project is critical to strengthening the UK's energy infrastructure and supporting the integration of future capacity, including Sizewell C and offshore wind developments.
This reinforcement will play a pivotal role in meeting the UK’s Net Zero ambitions and ensuring a more resilient, sustainable energy network.
We are seeking a strategic, forward-thinking and collaborative leader who is ambitious to deliver a project of national importance and leave a lasting legacy in the UK energy sector.
Requirements
- c14+ Years experience in any infrastructure environment working client side on at a consultancy
- Proven track record in senior project management, overseeing large scale infrastructure projects.
- Experience managing projects with a minimum value of £50 million.
- Leadership & decision-making at a strategic level
- Strong understanding of transmission infrastructure, grid systems, and engineering principals.
- Financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, and value engineering.
- Expertise in contract negotiations, procurement, and supplier management.
- Ability to work with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and local communities.
- Problem-solving capabilities to address unforeseen challenges
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
