Our client, ADS is the national trade association advancing the interests of the UKs aerospace, defence, security and space sectors industries that are central to the UKs economy, technological innovation, and national resilience. With over 1,200 member companies, ranging from global primes to innovative SMEs, ADS champions these sectors through policy influence, industry collaboration, business development, and international engagement. The current Regional Director is due to retire in early 2026 and we are therefore tasked with identifying a successor. The Job: This is a senior leadership role, responsible for shaping regional strategy, building powerful stakeholder relationships, and driving membership growth and engagement. The postholder will ensure that Northern Ireland remains a strong contributor to the UKs national industrial strategy and that ADS members in the region are well supported, connected, and represented. Provide visible leadership and strategic direction for ADSs work across Northern Ireland. Champion the voice of regional members within the wider ADS organisation and externally. Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders across the Northern Ireland Executive, UK Government, and Republic of Ireland institutions. Act as a trusted intermediary between government and industry, influencing policy and supporting the growth of the regional aerospace, defence, security, and space sectors. Deeply understand the needs and aspirations of member companies, from large primes to SMEs. Drive membership growth and retention through proactive engagement, events, and partnership opportunities. Foster collaboration between business, academia, and government to drive innovation and supply chain excellence. Lead the development and delivery of the annual Regional Delivery Plan, ensuring clear objectives, measurable outcomes, and strong alignment with ADS strategy. Manage the regional budget effectively, maintaining financial discipline and transparency. Act as facilitator and secretary to the ADS Northern Ireland Council, supporting its strategic role and ensuring effective governance. The Person: Proven senior-level leadership experience within the aerospace, defence, security, or space sectors, or in a closely related advanced manufacturing or technology industry. Understanding of the economic and policy landscape in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, including devolved government structures and industrial strategy. Track record of developing and maintaining relationships with senior stakeholders in industry, government, or academia. Experience leading and motivating a small, high-performing team while collaborating effectively with national or international colleagues.
