Sales Director Designate

The role:

To lead and drive the company’s sales strategy, overseeing the development of new business opportunities, managing key client relationships, and ensuring the achievement of revenue and growth targets. This role is a succession position, preparing the individual to transition into the full Sales Director role.

Duties within the role:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the company’s long-term objectives.
  • Lead the sales team, providing mentorship, performance management, and strategic direction.
  • Identify and cultivate high-value client relationships and strategic partnerships.
  • Oversee and carry out, the costing and quoting of steel, aluminium roofs and concrete projects, ensuring profitability and competitiveness are met.
  • Drive the development of new focus areas for our established markets, Utilities, Biogas, and Industrial effluent.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance, pipeline development, and market trends.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Champion the company’s brand and reputation in the UK and international markets.
  • Achieve and exceed ambitious sales targets within defined timelines.
  • Navigate complex client requirements and tight deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales forecasts and reporting.
  • Manage and develop a highly motivated, efficient and effective sales team.
  • The successful candidate:

  • Proven track record in senior sales leadership roles within the utilities and construction or industrial sectors.
  • Strong strategic thinking and business development capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Deep understanding of construction and utility led related technologies.
  • Experienced managing and developing high-performing sales teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen and financial literacy.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
  • Leadership presence with the ability to influence at all levels.
