Sales Director – Energy Brokerage | UK. My client is a high-growth, PE-backed energy brokerage and advisory firm seeking a dynamic Sales Director to lead and rapidly scale its direct sales function. The business plans to expand from 6 to 25+ direct sales team members in 6 months, including 3–4 senior leaders. This is a leadership role in a buy-and-build environment with an aggressive M&A and growth strategy. Location: Reading, England, United Kingdom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and grow the direct sales channel: team structure, hiring, coaching, and performance management.
  • Build scalable sales strategies and processes to support rapid team expansion and M&A integration.
  • Drive revenue across new business, renewals, and cross-sell of value-added services (e.g. solar, energy audits, monitoring).
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to refine and execute the go-to-market strategy.
  • Deliver against sales P&L targets while improving client retention and lifetime value.

About You

  • Proven track record of building and scaling high-performance B2B sales teams in fast-growth environments.
  • Hands-on, people-first leader who can guide both experienced and developing talent.
  • Brings sales rigour, process, and commercial structure that scales across multi-site or multi-entity organisations.
  • Experience in energy, Solar-as-a-Service, or B2B services (e.g. insurance brokerage) preferred.
  • Exposure to private equity-backed, buy-and-build growth models is a strong advantage.
