Job Specification - Part-Time Sales Director

Contract: 6-month contract with the potential to become permanent

Hours: 25 hours per week

Location: Hybrid - London office and remote (travel to London required for key meetings for those who live elsewhere in the UK)

Reports to: Head of Commercial

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Sales Director to drive growth and expand our reach across the public sector, with a particular focus on councils and education. This role requires someone who can hit the ground running, leveraging existing contacts and sector knowledge to quickly build relationships, close deals, and deliver results. The role is hybrid, with flexibility on working patterns. Preferably we would be looking for someone London based; however, we would be open to someone based elsewhere in the UK, with the expectation that they would travel to our London office when required for major meetings and strategy sessions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategy to grow revenue across councils, education institutions, and public sector organisations
  • Leverage existing contacts and networks within councils and/or education to accelerate pipeline development
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities, from first engagement through to closing
  • Lead high-level meetings with key decision-makers, presenting compelling value propositions tailored to the sector
  • Collaborate with leadership to align sales activity with overall company strategy
  • Provide sector insights to shape business development and product positioning
  • Track and report on sales performance, pipeline, and opportunities

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Proven success selling into councils and/or education sectors
  • Strong existing network of contacts in one or both of these sectors
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritise effectively, and deliver results at pace
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets

Desirable (Nice to Have)

  • Experience in medical or healthcare sales
  • Understanding of procurement processes in NHS and public sector
  • Exposure to ESG, sustainability, or clean air sectors
