We are looking for the right person to join us at
phs Besafe , part of the wider phs Group, the leading hygiene services provider in the UK. Its an excellent opportunity have a key role in the phs Besafe Senior Leadership Team and be part of the wider leadership team for phs Group. The successful person can make a real difference, where youll be creating and owning a 3-year sales strategy to drive both organic and acquisition growth.
As Sales Director at phs Besafe, you will lead the commercial strategy and execution across new business acquisition, existing account growth, retention and customer service excellence. You will collaborate closely with phs Group central functions including marketing, pricing, tenders, and Salesforce to drive sustainable revenue growth, profit and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Key Accountabilities of a Sales Director within phs Besafe
Sales Leadership and Strategy
Develop and execute a robust sales strategy aligned with Besafes growth objectives. Lead and inspire a high-performing sales team to achieve and exceed targets. Drive new business wins across targeted sectors and geographies. Ensure an account plan is in place across all major customers that drives growth and profitability. Oversee retention and expansion of existing client relationships. Attendance and reporting to periodic trading reviews and Besafe SLT meetings.
Customer Excellence
Championing a customer-first culture across all touchpoints. Ensure the Customer Excellence Manager and team deliver outstanding service and support. Monitor customer satisfaction metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with central marketing to align campaigns and lead generation with sales targets. Partner with pricing and tender teams to develop competitive and profitable proposals. Ensure Salesforce CRM is effectively utilized for pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting.
Team Management & Development
Provide leadership, coaching, management, and development to direct reports. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation. Conduct regular 1-1s, annual performance development reviews and support career progression.
Client Engagement
Represent Besafe in high-level client meetings and industry events. Maintain strong relationships with key accounts and strategic partners. Travel regularly to client sites and Besafe offices across the UK.
Key Skills & Experience
Proven track record in sales leadership, preferably within B2B services or safety/PPE solutions. Strong understanding of technical workwear, garment lifecycle management, and industrial laundry services. Experience selling into industrial sectors such as manufacturing, utilities, and transport. Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Experience working with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred). Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive change.
