As TOPPAN Digital Language continues to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Director to join TOPPAN Digital IP in Europe. Reporting directly to the VP of Sales & Marketing, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a rapidly expanding, industry-leading global translation agency.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies for Europe to achieve or exceed revenue targets, in alignment with the VP of Sales & Marketing
  • Work with VP of Sales & Marketing to define and implement the go-to-market approach for Europe, including future sales team expansion plans
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences and forums to raise brand visibility and build market presence
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity and customer needs to refine the regional sales strategy

Business Development & Sales Execution

  • Use a consultative sales approach to identify, present, negotiate and close new business opportunities
  • Generate leads and opportunities through proactive networking, prospecting and relationship building
  • Lead all contract negotiations for new business in Europe, working with the VP of Sales & Marketing on final terms
  • Drive and manage the full sales process from prospecting through to closure and handover to Account Management (as appropriate)
  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with existing and prospective clients, including regular in-person visits and presentations
  • Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with key clients to ensure alignment, satisfaction and growth opportunities
  • Create, manage, and track all pipeline and business development activity within the HubSpot CRM system
  • Deliver accurate revenue forecasts for Europe, reporting regularly to the VP of Sales & Marketing
  • Provide consistent updates on pipeline health, deal status and prospecting activity to senior leadership (VP of Sales & Marketing / SVP for IP)
  • Analyse sales performance, market share, win/loss data, preparing insights and recommendations for management
  • Ensure all client/prospect communications and sales records are maintained accurately in HubSpot CRM and company reporting systems
  • Partner with the Account Management team to ensure smooth client onboarding, handover and necessary ongoing support
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing and Product teams to tailor messaging, campaigns and solutions for the Europe market
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, managing expectations and aligning solutions with their business objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • BA or BS preferred although equivalent experience will be considered
  • 7 years + relevant sales or IP industry experience preferred
  • Fluent English required for this position
  • Additional languages would be an advantage but are not required

  • Effective interpersonal skills and proactive approach to the sales process
  • Deep understanding of the IP industry and customer landscape
  • Consistent willingness to achieve and exceed agreed objectives
  • Ability to work in a flexible, fast-paced, team environment
  • Familiarity with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Excellent in-person and remote presentation skills
  • Ability to travel as necessary

  • Solid knowledge and experience of CRM systems
  • Resourceful, ability to work both independently and as a team player and the ability to coordinate activities across company functions
