Scientific Director - Ashfield MedComms UK

We are excited to have a new Scientific Director vacancy to add to a global, established publications team with a leading client. We are the stewards of a portfolio that includes recently approved and pipeline assets, and are seeking a candidate that can own, manage, and organically grow their portion of the account through excellent delivery and attention to detail.

This role would suit someone who is passionate about science and supporting new therapies for patients, and experienced in creating oncology-specific materials, including solid tumours and primary manuscripts. The assets we work on are practice-changing; your care for and creation of high-quality scientific content to support these products will be invaluable. There are also opportunities for mentorship and reviewing work of junior team members, to ensure these high standards are met throughout.

You will use your medical communications expertise to work closely with colleagues and clients as a trusted publications professional. You will have the opportunity to build long lasting relationships, help to provide best in class content and development of the account.

You will be able to demonstrate and maintain a thorough understanding of oncology in your role and be able to build on your scientific knowledge to understand, analyse and assimilate market, therapy area and product information, contributing to conversations this with senior team and clients with a focus on ensuring your teams success.

You should have a commitment to quality, applying a sense of energy to all you do, and be able to always maintain a positive attitude, instilling pride in the team for the work produced.

Responsibilities

  • Content delivery will include manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slide decks, infographics, lexicons, and gap analyses. Podcast and video publication extenders are also requested at times, providing variation.
  • Mentorship and reviewing work of junior team members to ensure high standards are met.
  • Own, manage, and grow your portion of the account through excellent delivery and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate and maintain a thorough understanding of oncology, including solid tumours, and analyse market, therapy area, and product information.
  • Build long-lasting relationships with colleagues and clients and contribute to discussions with senior teams and clients.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable Medical Communications agency experience (UK-based).
  • Passion for science and supporting new therapies for patients, with experience creating oncology-specific materials.
  • Ability to work remotely within the United Kingdom or in-office on hybrid or office-based basis (Macclesfield, Manchester, London).
  • Commitment to quality and a positive, collaborative attitude.
