We work with leading pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical devices, and health IT clients and are committed to excellence for both clients and colleagues.
Real Chemistry is looking for a Senior Account Director to join our growing team. This role requires solid client services experience in healthcare, with the ability to lead client strategy engagements, supervise project execution across multiple communication platforms, and drive new business opportunities.
This position offers an opportunity for an individual with a passion for healthcare to work with leading clients across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical devices, and health IT fields.
What you’ll do:
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional client relationship skills.

- Guide clients on integrated marketing/communications decisions, identifying new opportunities to increase visibility for their brand, including consultative selling.
- Develop high-level and persuasive communications plans (annual, quarterly, etc.).
- Maintain client budgets and resourcing, budget tracking, staffing and billability.
- Ensure the quality of the account team(s) is maintained to a high standard and that client requests are handled strategically and timely.
- Directly supervise account staff and promote continuous learning and development to help build an impactful culture.
This position is a perfect fit for you if:
- Our Company values – Best Together, Impact-Obsessed, Excellence Expected, Evolve Always, and Accountability with an “I” – align with you.
- You are adaptable, resilient, and willing to adjust scope, responsibilities, and focus as we grow.
- You are proactive, driven, and resourceful with strong prioritization skills and a desire to work with data.
- You are highly organized, a self-starter, able to work independently and under tight deadlines.
What you should have:
- Ability to take ownership and run projects with limited supervision.
- Highly organized with strong attention to deadlines and the ability to lead multiple tasks based on priorities.
- Independent thinker who can own assets and material development, while collaborating with a team.
- Professional presence, urgency in delivery, and client service orientation.
- Ability to manage upward and communicate with managers when deadlines will not be met or issues are foreseeable.
- High energy to operate in a fast-paced, growing environment.
- Strong work ethic with a track record of delivering high-quality work on schedule and on budget.
- Positive, adaptable thinker who can innovate and remain reliable under pressure.
- Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills, including confident public speaking with clients, vendors, and affiliates.
- Intermediate to advanced capabilities in using social media.
- Ability to analyse data/research and draw actionable insights.
- Project management experience with the ability to meet deadlines and manage budgets.
- Experience encouraging professional development of direct reports and influencing matrixed teams.
- Highly desirable but not required: scientific knowledge from an educational degree or work on high-science accounts.
- The position requires some international travel for client meetings and conferences (20-30%).
