Job Description:
You will use your experience in business and operations management to run and grow the joint venture through delivery of NbS projects to multiple clients.
Setting and implementing the business strategy, you will be accountable for all areas of the business, including project delivery, financial and operations management, resourcing and marketing / brand growth.
You will drive business development activities by engaging with and influencing key client stakeholders to promote the business in this rapidly emerging market.
Working closely with Binnies design and delivery specialists and key supply chain partners, you will ensure that all business outcomes are met in the most efficient and effective method.
Role location is flexible, but you must be willing and able to travel to client / Binnies offices and project sites throughout the UK.
Responsibilities
- Ensure health, safety, wellbeing and the environment are prioritised through all that SBN does, maintaining compliance with SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment and Quality) procedures / Quality Management System;
- Set, implement and adapt business strategy in line with emerging market sector / business drivers and risks;
- Oversee all aspects of the service line, managing a team of Delivery and Technical specialists resources to achieve annual revenue and profit budgets along with other planned business outcomes;
- Ensure large portfolio of projects delivered to assigned financial metrics, undertaking monthly forecasting, reviews and reporting;
- Create resource demand profile, managing capacity via both internal resourcing and recruitment;
- Liaise with, influence and manage clients to develop relationships, positioning SBN’s services to create a tangible pipeline of opportunities;
- Lead on key bids and proposals, creating compelling offers based on the experience and capability of Binnies and the wider RSK Group businesses that can enhance our value proposition;
- Manage all commercial, contractual and resourcing interfaces;
- Contribute to the development of quality systems and procedures, driving continuous improvement;
- Manage strategic client frameworks, liaising with senior client stakeholders on key risks for escalation, reviewing and negotiating on contract matters, and finding mutually agreeable resolutions to any issues;
- Grow the Solutions By Nature brand through various marketing channels including Social Media, publications, press releases, industry events and conferences;
- Seek to achieve SBN mission of becoming the ‘Nature-based Solutions partner of choice’ to our clients.
Qualifications / Attributes
- Experience in similar operations leadership role, able to demonstrate business growth;
- Proven leader with collaborative behaviours able to bring together people of all backgrounds from across many different teams, disciplines and businesses in the achievement of common goals;
- Prior experience in the delivery of whole lifecycle engineering and / or environmental projects in the application of Nature-based Solutions (i.e. wetlands, river restoration, Blue-Green Infrastructure);
- Driven in the pursuit of success, with a focus on achieving and exceeding targets;
- Excellent decision maker, able to act quickly on sometimes limited information or when dealing with ambiguity to achieve best outcomes for the business;
- Proactive and methodical approach to problem solving to mitigate risk and resolve issues effectively whilst maintaining good relationships with clients, partners, suppliers and team members;
- Maintains a positive and solution-oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback;
- Excellent communicator with colleagues, clients, joint venture partners and stakeholders;
- Bachelor's degree in relevant environmental science / engineering discipline preferred or any other degree, specialised training, or experience, that makes the individual qualified to perform the job responsibilities;
- Chartered or Incorporated status with a relevant institution;
