Senior Manager/Associate Director - VAT

What will you be doing?
We're seeking a talented individual at Senior Manager level to join our VAT Tax Team in the North, which is responsible for providing VAT compliance and advisory services for a wide range of business clients.
You will be managing your own portfolio of clients, working with Directors or alone on complicated consultancy and advisory projects. A significant part of the role will be managing client relationships and identifying opportunities on existing clients as well as potentially developing a specialist field of technical and/or sector knowledge and expertise.
As a Senior Manager or Associate Director your responsibilities will include;
- Overseeing complex VAT projects and engagements, ensuring high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction
- Developing and implementing VAT strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize efficiency
- Provide expert advice on VAT matters to clients, including multinational corporations and high-net-worth individuals
- Leading and managing a team of VAT professionals, providing mentorship and guidance to develop their skills and expertise
- Staying up-to-date with changes in VAT legislation and communicate implications to clients
- Collaborating with other tax and advisory teams to provide comprehensive solutions to clients
- Contributing to business development initiatives, including proposal writing and client presentations
- Managing client relationships and act as a trusted advisor on VAT-related matters
- Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of VAT operations
Qualifications
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in VAT consulting or corporate tax roles
- Proven track record of successfully leading and managing teams
- Advanced knowledge of VAT regulations and compliance
- In-depth understanding of VAT legislation and its practical application
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Experience in building and maintaining client relationships
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Professional tax qualification (e.g., CTA, ACA, ACCA)
