Location: Remote - Travel (SCC operate hybrid working, which comprises of a mix of office and home working)
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: Competitive
Hours: 9.00 am – 5.30 pm Monday – Friday. We also offer the opportunity to benefit from a Core Hours arrangement (role-specific), providing flexibility around your personal needs

The Software & Cloud# Services Director (UK) will lead the strategic and operational direction of SCC’s software and cloud services portfolio. Reporting to the Managing Director – Software & Security, this role will oversee the in-house IT Asset Management (ITAM), FinOps, and Enterprise Service Management (DAP) functions, ensuring they deliver measurable value across the business.
In addition, the Director will be responsible for scaling SCC’s use-case centric software and software solutions, driving innovation and commercial growth through tailored business solutions and services. This includes engaging with vendor technology specialists, shaping go-to-market strategies, and managing ecosystem delivery partners to ensure seamless execution and customer success.
A key aspect of this role is the leadership and coordination of technical pre-sales teams across the business, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities, consistency in solution design, and excellence in customer engagement. The Director will foster collaboration between pre-sales, delivery, and commercial teams to accelerate solution development and drive business outcomes.
This role demands a visionary leader who can align technology initiatives with business goals, build high-performing teams, and deliver excellence across product development, service delivery, and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities
- Technology Strategy: Develop and implement technology strategies that support the company’s overall business objectives , staying ahead of technology trends and ensuring the company leverages the latest innovations.
- Product & Service Development: Oversee the development of new products and services, ensuring they meet market demands and enhance the company’s offerings.
- Research & Development: Lead R&D efforts to innovate and improve existing technologies, ensuring the company remains competitive.
- C-suite Collaboration: Work closely with other executives to align technological initiatives with the company’s strategic goals and ensure seamless integration across departments.
- Budget Management: Manage the technology budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effective solutions.
- Leadership & Team Management: Lead the Software Solution Pre-Sales & delivery teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Customer & Vendor Relation s : Interact with customers and vendors to understand their needs and ensure the company’s technology solutions meet those needs.
- Own end to end delivery of Software services including IT Asset Management (ITAM) Enterprise Service Management / Digital Automation Practice (DAP) & any third-parties needed to deliver Software solutions
- Operational Excellence: Manage operational excellence across various metrics such as sales pipeline acceleration, time entries discipline, project management, utilization management, Services gross margin recognition, and GP forecasting across the Software BU.
- Technical Pre-Sales: Ensure the availability of the right level of pre-sales and delivery capacity to execute on the sales process pipeline and running projects.
- Utilization & Chargeability : Maintain a healthy balance between pre-sales, delivery, and other productive utilization / chargeability initiative.
- Opportunity Assessment: Lead Service Centric Opportunity Assessment / Deal Reviews to qualify delivery risks, aiming to maximize profitability without impacting quality and customer satisfaction.
- Margin & Quality Accountability: Assume accountability for margin maximization and delivery quality.
- Escalation Support: Support, sponsor, or personally lead the resolution of service delivery escalations.
- Budget Planning & Delivery Design: Validate budget planning (bottom-up, focus: costs), oversee SL-specific capacity and capability planning, and oversee the design and specification of delivery models for the service portfolio.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality of delivery in remote as well as local delivery units, including identifying and overseeing staffing requirements together with the leads and resource management.
- Knowledge Sharing: Encourage and facilitate knowledge sharing between different business units (BUs) across SCC.
- Solution Adoption: Support driving and accelerating solution adoption.
- Innovation & Competitive Analysis: Conduct regular competitive analysis to identify opportunities for innovation and ensure the company stays ahead of industry trends.
- Strategic Thinking: Develop and implement long-term technology strategies.
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of software development, product design, and emerging technologies.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Vendor Management: Proven ability to engage and collaborate with vendor technology specialists.
- Innovation: Drive innovation through research and development, staying ahead of industry trends.
- Customer Focus: Commitment to understanding and meeting customer needs through technology solutions.
- Project Management: Expertise in managing technology projects from inception to completion.
- Quality Assurance: Strong focus on maintaining high standards of product quality.
