AI Solutions Director – Defence | Client-Facing | UK-Based

We’re looking for an experienced AI Solutions Director / AI Delivery Lead who can bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI delivery and the Defence business units we support. The Role

As AI Solutions Director, you'll act as the link between our technical delivery team and senior Defence stakeholders — sitting at the intersection of capability and mission. You'll work closely with our CTO for technical direction and support, while owning client conversations, helping shape solution design, and ensuring delivery is aligned to real-world Defence challenges.

You’ll guide projects from inception through to deployment, ensuring security, integrity, and innovation at every stage.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the client-facing lead for AI projects in Defence, translating mission needs into robust, secure AI solutions
• Collaborate with the CTO and technical teams to design and deliver scalable solutions
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with business and operational leads across the Defence sector
• Guide cross-functional delivery teams, providing technical oversight and ensuring delivery remains aligned to client goals
• Stay adaptive to the fast-moving AI landscape, incorporating new capabilities safely and effectively
• Ensure compliance with security protocols and AI assurance best practices in sensitive environments

What We're Looking For

• Experience delivering AI/ML or data science solutions in secure, defence, or national security environments
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills – able to engage credibly with senior clients and technical teams alike
• Comfortable working across delivery and strategy, with the ability to zoom in on technical detail when required
• Ideally a solid technical foundation in AI/ML and a strong grasp of the limitations, risks, and opportunities in deploying AI responsibly
• Collaborative approach – able to work closely with the CTO, Delivery Director and team leads to ensure consistency and quality
• Eligible for UK Government Security Clearance (SC minimum, DV preferred)

Desirable

• Experience in client-facing roles or consulting
• Familiarity with LLMs, AI agents, MLOps or containerised deployments in classified settings
• Understanding of AI governance, ISO 42001, or model assurance frameworks
