Based in Derby, England, ResChem Analytical Limited is a division of Smithers ERS Limited, providing GLP pesticide residue analysis and regulatory studies for the registration of plant protection products. Our teams include experienced scientists and technicians offering a broad range of skills and areas of expertise. Reporting to the Associate Director of ResChem, we are looking for self-motivated, enthusiastic and detail-focused individuals with a keen eye for problem solving. The role encompasses all aspects of pesticide residue chemistry including sample preparation, extraction, purification and quantitation by LC-MS/MS or GC-MS. As Study Director, you will be responsible for preparing study plans and reports, and will liaise with field team partners to support our clients’ needs. All work will be conducted in compliance with GLP and the study plans, protocols or work agreements governing the work in which you are involved.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a range of analyses using advanced chromatographic techniques, including HP-LC, LC-MS, and GC-MS
• Preparation of study plans and reports for allocated studies
• Deliver high-quality data efficiently and accurately, supporting the needs of our clients
• Play an integral role in maintaining and organizing laboratory resources and equipment
• Work closely with a team of experienced scientists in a dynamic and collaborative environment
• Provide technical support and excellence across the department
• Drive quality and innovation as part of a problem-solving culture

Qualifications and experience

• A BSc or equivalent degree in Chemistry or a related subject
• Strong laboratory skills and attention to detail
• A passion for problem-solving and innovation
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Prior experience working in a GLP accredited laboratory
