Technical Director - Third Party Property Damage (TPPD)

Location: West Malling, Kent (Hybrid)
Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 DOE + Executive Benefits
Hours: 37.5 hrs per week

As part of this growth, they are seeking a Technical Director - Third Party Property Damage to lead and shape the future of their specialist liability proposition.

The Opportunity

This is a pivotal senior leadership role, ideal for an accomplished loss adjusting professional ready to influence business direction, drive innovation, and elevate technical standards across the TPPD division.

You will lead on technical excellence, strategic development, and client engagement, ensuring that the business continues to set the benchmark for quality, consistency, and innovation in TPPD claims handling.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic & Technical Leadership: Define and execute the technical vision for the TPPD division, ensuring alignment with the company's broader strategic objectives.

• Complex Case Oversight: Personally manage a select portfolio of high-value or technically complex cases, providing leadership-by-example and ensuring first-class outcomes.

• Team Development: Champion technical capability and career growth across the adjusting team - mentoring, coaching, and developing future leaders.

• Operational Excellence: Continuously refine processes, methodologies, and best practices to enhance performance and consistency across the TPPD function.

• Client Engagement: Build and maintain trusted relationships with key insurer, MGA, and broker partners - representing the company as a technical authority and strategic partner.

• Business Growth: Support business development through thought leadership, market engagement, and the delivery of technical training and presentations.

• Governance & Compliance: Ensure regulatory compliance and promote a culture of integrity and professionalism.

• Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with the Board and fellow Directors to deliver on the wider business growth and people strategy.

What You Bring

• Extensive experience managing complex third-party property damage and liability claims within a loss adjusting or insurer environment.

• A recognised profile within the liability market and established relationships with insurer and broker clients.

• Proven ability to lead technical teams, set direction, and deliver operational excellence.

• Deep understanding of claims management principles, regulation, and commercial implications.

• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage credibly at senior stakeholder level.

• Desirable: ACILA/FCILA or ACII/FCII qualifications.
