Overview
Transaction Tax Director – London (Hybrid). I'm currently partnering with a fast-growing professional services firm that’s expanding its Transaction Services (TS) offering across London and the South East. They’re looking to appoint a highly experienced Transaction Tax Director to take a key leadership role within their national team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a balance of strategic tax delivery and business development. You'll be the most senior Transaction Tax expert in the London office, helping shape the direction of the team locally, whilst working closely with the national TS function.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage transaction tax engagements across a range of sectors
- Provide strategic tax advice, due diligence, structuring, and planning for both buyers and sellers
- Work collaboratively with clients to understand their goals and deliver commercially focused tax strategies
- Play a central role in business development, identifying new opportunities and supporting revenue growth
- Build and maintain relationships across the M&A landscape – including intermediaries, PE, legal contacts, and internal teams
- Monitor changes in tax law and advise clients and internal stakeholders accordingly
- Collaborate across departments to deliver integrated tax solutions
- Manage project delivery, budgets, and working capital
- Mentor and develop junior team members, supporting a culture of growth and collaboration

This role would suit an experienced transaction tax specialist who is both technically strong and commercially minded, with the confidence to take the lead in a growing function.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Extensive experience in transaction tax within a professional services environment
- A proven background in business development and client management
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach
- Confidence in managing complex projects and client relationships
