Overview
The Sales Director will play a critical role in driving Onyx’s revenue growth by identifying, qualifying, and securing new business opportunities in the UK and Ireland. This role responds to inbound inquiries, proactively initiates and develops new sales prospects, and follows up on leads generated by the pre-sales team to close deals. The Sales Director will design and execute strategic sales plans to exceed revenue targets, ensure smooth collaboration with operations for client transitions into service delivery, and manage the full sales cycle, including opportunity tracking and reporting within Salesforce. The role requires strong negotiation skills, a results-driven mindset, and the ability to build lasting customer relationships that contribute to Onyx’s long-term growth.

Education
Minimum required: Bachelor’s Degree. Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in business or hospitality.
Span of Control
Reports to: VP for Territory Sales. Oversight: This role has 0 direct reports.
Roles / Responsibilities
- Respond to sales inquiries from potential customers seeking Onyx’s services.
- Individually initiate new sales prospects and qualify leads and solicit potential customers.
- Follow up leads processed through our SDR (pre-sales team) and effectively close the deal.
- Develop sales plans and strategies to meet and exceed established revenue goals.
- Partner with operations to ensure optimal transition to full service delivery.
- Provide detailed tracking and status information for each sales opportunity in CRM (Salesforce) and other management reports.
- Successfully negotiate deals in a timely manner that advance Onyx’s growth and trajectory.
- Adhere to operational KPIs (Calls, Sets, Activities and Tasks, etc.).
Qualifications
- 3-5 years sales experience, preferably in the travel industry.
- Proven track record in effective and consistent sales results.
- Excellent written and verbal skills required.
- Ability to translate customer needs and requirements into sales opportunities for the company.
- Experience managing and negotiating deals with complex structures (deliverables and fee structures).
- Proficient in creating customer and internal documentation in PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
- Must be willing and able to travel in assigned market as well as attend various conferences and/or trade shows.

- Ability to manage and prioritize tasks of various levels for maximum productivity.
- Relationship Management
- Ability to advocate for the customer to internal stakeholders, and advocate for Onyx to the client.
Physical Demands / Travel Required
Work is sedentary and performed indoors at a desk, either remotely or in an office setting. Travel for this position can range from 20-30%.
