Organisation: Mums in Science / The Women in STEM Network
Location: UK-based (remote with monthly Barnet meetings)
Commitment: Minimum 1 year
About Us
Mums in Science Ltd, the organisation behind the Women in STEM Network, is building the world’s largest online community for women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Our platform unites members and ambassadors across the globe, offering mentoring, networking, training, and recruitment opportunities to help close the gender gap in STEM.
The Role
We are seeking a Volunteer Deputy Director to work closely with our Founder and CEO, Dr Shara Cohen, to bring structure, organisation, and long-term stability to the organisation.
This is a hands-on, developmental leadership role. From day one, you will be expected to use your networks and experience to grow membership, engage with universities and institutes, and strengthen partnerships. Membership income is our immediate priority, and success here will drive sustainability.
Once income becomes consistent and sustainable, the role will transition into a full-time salaried position (£50,000 starting salary) as Managing Director, leading day-to-day operations while the Founder remains CEO.
