Overview

This opportunity to join our leadership team comes at a time that has never been more important, as we shape and deliver our strategy and work towards better outcomes for patients whilst delivering services within a challenging financial environment.

This critical role will support the Director of Finance in all aspects of the delivery of the finance function. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will lead the finance team in supporting the Directors and their operational teams alongside to deliver within the approved in year financial plan, provide senior leadership to support and inform effective decision making; develop financial plans to help ensure that the Board can successfully meet its strategic objectives for patient care and sustainability within a smaller financial envelope.

We are seeking a candidate with an outstanding track record of success within the public sector, ideally within the NHS.

You will possess first class financial leadership and influencing skills with the ability to forge effective working relationships across a wide set of internal and external stakeholders by working in partnership and collaboration.

You will be an exemplary ambassador for the finance department displaying the behaviours and core values expected of the Board whilst operating in an environment where there is a constant need to balance the often-conflicting priorities of operating within a financial deficit and that of maintaining agreed levels of quality, delivery of service performance targets as well as balancing the needs of the organisations workforce.

The successful candidate requires to be CCAB (or equivalent) qualified and have the experience of successfully leading a financial management team.
