Watch Our Story: https://www.hdrinc.com/our-story Primary Objective The primary objective of the Account Director - Commissioning is to ensure that the processes involved in commissioning engineering services systems are diligently and accurately planned, managed, executed, recorded and reported to our client. Responsibilities
Seeing that commitments to clients are delivered on time, to the required level of detail and quality. Acting as a key point of contact for the client. Actively promote HDR services within the account. Providing fee proposals for new projects in line with the agreed pricing model. Making full use of the company’s management systems to achieve the primary objective. Taking responsibility for project safety. Encouraging project engineers to achieve a high level of performance. Reporting any performance problems to the line manager. Reviewing monthly Project Job Costing Reports with the project engineering team. Providing information to inform the monthly board reporting process. Providing consultative advice in determining Quality and Commissioning requirements, strategies, programmes, scopes of work and related matters. Managing a team of HDR engineers and/or managers, including recruitment interviews and performance reviews in association with the Divisional Director or Director. Keeping the account team informed of developments and project opportunities.
Engaging with other members of the Company to improve systems and procedures. Acting as Champion in an area of specific technical interest. Promoting the company and the wider group through marketing activities.
Profile Candidates will be experienced Building Services Engineers with a particular interest and/or skill set in commissioning. This could be direct experience of setting systems to work, or managing the process in working for a contractor or competitor. A high level of technical competence in one or more of the following areas is expected:
Control engineering Fire engineering Mechanical systems HV distribution HVAC balancing LV distribution Refrigeration QA Management Sustainability Stand-by power UPS
Preferred Qualifications
4 years of industry experience in mechanical, electrical and controls disciplines Proven ability to lead commissioning efforts from design through project completion Passion for sustainability and knowledge of commissioning processes and building systems (HVAC, electrical, mechanical, controls) Willingness to travel within the UK and abroad regularly and for extended durations Ability to troubleshoot HVAC, TAB, and Controls and strong report writing skills Understanding of operational requirements, safety requirements, code inspections and maintenance considerations Strong written, verbal communication and time management skills; excellent interpersonal skills Technical knowledge of MEP systems and HVAC expertise Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Multitasking ability Valid driver’s license
Professional qualifications are a benefit but not a prerequisite. Experience (technical and managerial), tact, diplomacy and good organisational skills are essential. An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering 10 years related experience Minimum 5 years project management experience Professional Engineer (PE) license MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience is a plus) Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills Commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture
