Account Director, Public Affairs - Advisory
Account Directors produce high-quality advice demonstrating a deep understanding of clients and issues. You will regularly provide analysis to clients and develop an advisory voice informed by research, experience and awareness of trends and events. You will manage key workstreams as well as guiding executives and assistants on the account. You will also build a network and relationships with clients, advisers, government and other political stakeholders, and Brunswick colleagues in the UK and around the world. You will work to understand Brunswick’s sector offerings and how to connect them with clients to provide the best advice on high-stakes issues as part of our one-firm offering.
Responsibilities
- Deliver regulatory, political, media and market analysis to clients, with intelligent insight and recommendations informed by data, analysis and experience.
- Manage the development of high-quality client advice documents, including drafting, proofing, editing and version control, with seamless project management of client workstreams.
- Guide executives and assistants on your teams in effectively supporting accounts.
- Develop a solid understanding of different sectors and specialist offers.
- Ensure logistics for client meetings and events are executed smoothly and manage upwards to ensure Brunswick delivers on time and above expectations.
- Begin to develop an advisory voice informed by research, experience and awareness of market trends and events.
- Nurture a network amongst peers inside and outside the firm, providing valuable insight for the firm and for clients.
- Be part of a team that encourages professional development, in-person collaboration and external networking.
What We're Looking For
Skills
- Highly knowledgeable on business issues and current affairs; up to date on key trends, issues, commentators and debates, particularly as it relates to UK and European regulatory and political landscapes
- Prior experience working within government, parliament or a political party, ideally at Westminster, or experience in engaging and influencing politicians to secure outcomes
- An understanding of business, finance, policy, and politics, with a genuine interest in the positive role business can play to contribute to public policy issues
- Knowledgeable in business-facing policy and political issues; up to date on international trends, key commentators and debates
- Able to demonstrate excellent written research and analysis for business audiences; able to synthesize large amounts of intelligence across numerous sources to develop evidenced advice; experience communicating to senior audiences in writing and verbally preferred
- Proven project management experience, with the ability to oversee multiple fast-moving workstreams
- A dynamic self-starter with a strong work ethic, curious to learn and enthusiastic to build networks and relationships
- High level of attention to detail and an intellectually rigorous, client-service attitude
- Experienced team-worker who prefers a collegiate working style
