Advanced Operations Director, Advanced Wound Care

Position Overview

The role of the Advanced Operations Director, Advanced Wound Care is to form, influence, and lead Advanced Operations CC/OC/AWC cross-functional and global teams. This role is responsible for all new product and new technology introductions from a Global Quality and Operations perspective including supporting process development with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) by reviewing and providing input and launch support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary BU liaison partner between GQO and the Technology and Innovation (T&I) Team.
  • Direct leadership of Managers, Technical Project Managers, Engineering and Validations SMEs and technicians.
  • Works independently supporting business strategies within the BU.
  • Driving Automation strategy for NPD.
  • Aligning, knowledge sharing and supporting with other BU peers in AO.
  • Direct responsibility for process validations for all new products and technologies.
  • Oversee process validations and ensure regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and product safety.
  • Limiting opportunities for cost reduction by front loading the implementation of efficient processes in advance of product launch.
  • Ensure technology development to support product life cycle management.
  • Providing a challenging and rewarding environment for our high talent employees.
  • Drive the Company's Mission, Values and Priorities initiatives, as well as the performance coaching process, to ensure a consistent high-performance culture.
  • Develop and implement strategies for manufacturing optimization and make-vs-buy decisions in NPD.

Skills & Experience

  • High level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness with strong work ethic and the ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Displays organizational savvy and knows how to leverage networks to bring information and points of view from different areas both inside and outside the company.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex problems, incorporating data gathered from a variety of sources.
  • Demonstrated ability to define a strategy and translate it into actionable plans and then manage through to implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams and achieve results across the company, working across borders, cultures, and languages.

Qualifications/Education

  • Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in progressive leadership roles in manufacturing operations.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the medical device industry.
  • Multi-national work experience with responsibilities including operations outside the US.
  • Demonstrated record of building high performance teams.
  • Demonstrated record of working successfully within a matrix environment.

This is a hybrid role linked to our office in Deeside, UK. This position will require travel up to 15% of the time, mostly within Europe.
