Within this practice, the Infrastructure Finance business unit provides modelling, model audit, valuations, training and advisory services to clients across EMEA and the Americas, from regional hubs in London, Paris, New York, Toronto, Johannesburg and Delhi.

Job Purpose: To support Partners and Directors in further developing the Advisory and Valuations service lines within Forvis Mazars through the delivery of a high-quality service across a range of clients within the energy & infrastructure sector - acquisitions, valuations, sales, fundraisings, bid advisory and debt raisings.

We are now looking for the right person to help drive the business forward. The right person would:

Responsibilities

  • Lead advisory and valuation assignments, through proactive project management and by providing commercial and sector-based direction to a broader team of sector specialists. It is expected that an individual will split their time 50:50 between advisory and valuations assignments, though this may be flexed based on client requirements.
  • Develop excellent client relationships, combining commitment to first-rate client service with the curiosity to understand the client's business and assets.
  • Demonstrate strong PowerPoint and report writing skills, with a proactive and curious approach.
  • Interpret, sense-check and run Excel-based financial models with 3-way financial statements.
  • Commit to business development as well as project execution.
  • Apply significant experience in the energy and infrastructure sector.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Project Delivery
  • Manage the delivery of advisory engagements, including preparing transaction documentation (business plans, information memorandum and financial models), researching and approaching potential buyers/sellers, and leading day-to-day execution with a portfolio of assignments.
  • Project manage larger transactions and smaller engagements end-to-end, build strong client relationships, and provide clear tactical advice under supervision of more senior team members.
  • Ensure timely billing, adherence to Mazars' quality and risk procedures, and effective budget management.
  • Deliver valuation engagements: create project plans, analyze information, identify key issues, review market evidence and valuation calculations, and produce reports or review drafts.
  • Develop direct client relationships over time and lead, coach and review junior valuation professionals.
  • People & Product Development
  • Help develop client deliverables and team capabilities with informed sector dynamics and commercial understanding.
  • Mentor junior team members through coaching, training and development; review work and provide feedback during fieldwork.
  • Improve deliverables’ visual clarity and ensure outputs reflect latest market insights; build broad market relationships.
  • Promote a culture of learning and development across engagements; potential line management responsibilities for staff in London, Delhi and Pune.
  • Business Development & Broader Team Engagement
  • Develop market intelligence and sector knowledge to prepare for new deal opportunities and pitches.
  • Lead on proposal documents for new opportunities and help convert them; build an external network with existing and target clients.
  • Support marketing activity and build personal market profile; collaborate with colleagues across Transaction Services, Tax and other advisory teams.
  • Promote Forvis Mazars energy and infrastructure sector knowledge within and outside the firm.

Key Requirements

  • Several years of experience doing deal advisory and valuation work in the energy and infrastructure sector (at least 6 years for the Manager level, or 8 years for the Associate Director level).
  • Strong track record in energy & infrastructure through M&A or financing transactions.
  • Good understanding of the industry, trends, and key market players.
  • Demonstrable project management skills and ability to meet demanding timelines.
  • Strong financial modelling capabilities and knowledge of market-standard valuation techniques in the sector.
  • Experience building enduring client relationships through repeat work.
  • Ability to interpret results, identify issues, and apply commercial acumen.
  • Pro-active, confident team player with strong relationship-building skills at all levels.
  • Ability to develop self and others; experience in managing junior team members (for Manager level).
  • Understanding of engagement and risk processes in an accountancy context; accounting or broader finance qualifications (e.g., ACA or CFA) desirable but not essential.
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal) is mandatory; additional EU language skills are desirable.
  • Self-motivated, ambitious and hard-working with a passion for excellent client service and building a growing business; strong team ethos.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills and MS Office proficiency.
