Job Summary
The Assistant Director will support the Korea Center–King Sejong Institute by managing academic programs, co-teaching courses, developing new initiatives, and fostering relationships with students, faculty, and external partners. This role plays a key part in promoting Korean language and culture across campus and the broader community.
Essential Functions
- Program Management:
Oversee the Contemporary Korea Certificate Program, including student advising, program promotion, and coordination with academic departments. - Instructional Support:
Co-teach credit-bearing courses such as IDSC 2000 and other INTL courses that contribute to the Contemporary Korea Certificate. - Internship Coordination:
Assist students with internship placements and build partnerships with local Korean businesses. - Outreach & Recruitment:
Engage with Alabama high schools to recruit students for Korean language and culture programs. - Program Development:
Contribute to the design and implementation of new initiatives, including ESL classes and Korean cultural training programs. - Staff Supervision:
Provide leadership and oversight to Program Coordinators. - Reporting:
Report directly to the Director of the Korea Center–King Sejong Institute.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Korean Studies, Education, International Relations, or a related field
- Experience in curriculum and program development
- Teaching experience in a higher education setting (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Bilingual proficiency in Korean and English
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Salary Range $34.00 per hour
