Are you an experienced property services leader looking to make a real difference? HARP is a homelessness charity and a registered social housing provider based in Southend on Sea, Essex. We deliver high-quality supported housing and homelessness services to over 1,000 people every year. We’re seeking an exceptional leader to join our Senior Management Team in a newly restructured role Assistant Director – Property Services to ensure our buildings are safe, compliant, and enable the best outcomes for the people who live and work in them.
As Assistant Director, you will take strategic and operational responsibility for the management and maintenance of HARP’s property portfolio. This includes ensuring compliance with housing and health and safety regulations, leading both in-house teams and external contractors, and being a key member of the project team on capital projects and asset planning. You’ll play a key role in embedding a culture of customer focus, accountability, and continuous improvement, while supporting the organisation’s sustainability and growth ambitions.
We’re looking for someone who brings good knowledge of the social housing or supported housing sector, proven leadership in managing multi-disciplinary teams, and a passion for service excellence. This is a rewarding opportunity for a collaborative, values-driven professional who wants to shape quality homes and safe spaces for people rebuilding their lives after homelessness. Join us and help deliver real change in Southend.
At HARP, we are committed to fostering a workplace that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve and where every employee feels valued, respected, and empowered. We believe that equity is essential to creating an inclusive environment where all individuals, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, socioeconomic background, or other characteristics, have access to equal opportunities for employment, advancement, and success.
We are dedicated to ensuring that our hiring, promotion, and compensation practices are fair, transparent, and free from bias. We actively seek to identify and eliminate barriers to employment and professional growth for underrepresented groups, and we embrace diverse perspectives as a source of strength, innovation, and growth.
Our commitment to equity means that we provide ongoing training and support to ensure that all employees can thrive in their roles and contribute meaningfully to our mission. We continually assess our policies, programs, and culture to ensure we are meeting the needs of all our staff and fostering an environment of trust, collaboration, and accountability.
By embedding equity in our workplace, we aim to create a culture where differences are not just respected but celebrated, and where everyone has the opportunity to achieve their full potential. We believe that when everyone has an equal chance to succeed, we all benefit.
