What You Will Do

  • Lead project management and technical delivery of schemes from inception through to handover, coordinating with Architects, Engineers, and specialist consultants.
  • Develop innovative and sustainable designs for a range of projects, including transportation hubs, tall towers, healthcare, defence and education sectors.
  • Take a key leadership role on multi-disciplinary design projects, ensuring coordination with other disciplines and external design consultants.
  • Contribute to the growth of the order book and the delivery of high-profile major multi-disciplinary development projects across the region.

Team and Workplace

You will join the Building Structures team, with bases in Newcastle or Teesside. The office offers a flexible, health-conscious environment with a modern design, natural light and open spaces.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide sustainable development solutions from site selection through to detailed design and construction.
  • Offer specialist advice and design solutions on sustainable design, net zero carbon, MMC & DfMA.
  • Form strong working relationships with other WSP disciplines, external consultants, stakeholders and clients.
  • Report to a senior team member and contribute to exciting, high-profile multi-disciplinary projects across sectors such as Transportation, High-rise, Commercial & Mixed use, Retail, Education and Healthcare, including recent wins in Defence.

What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate

  • A proven track record of successful design delivery, ideally on major projects and other challenging multi-discipline building projects (concept design and project inception).
  • Experience in project management and technical delivery leadership for medium to large schemes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and leadership potential; able to communicate effectively with project teams, stakeholders and clients.
  • Chartered (MIStructE/MICE).
  • Significant experience in the commercial and technical management of projects using appropriate business tools.
  • Significant experience in team management, including line management and day-to-day operations.
  • Experience as a lead client contact for consultancy services with strong client and professional relationships.
