Your missionEngitix Therapeutics is a leading biotechnology company pioneering the field of extracellular matrix (ECM) biology, with a mission to transform drug discovery for fibrosis and solid tumours. Our proprietary 3D Tissue Engineering System enables the production of human ECM scaffolds derived from healthy or diseased donor organs, preserving their native biophysical and biochemical properties. Unlike traditional ECM technologies that rely on animal tissue, Engitix's platform allows for the expansion of cells in human-relevant 3D culture, enabling the development of in vitro disease models that more accurately reflect human pathophysiology. These models are instrumental in identifying and validating novel therapeutic targets, particularly in complex diseases such as cancer and fibrosis. Engitix has established strategic partnerships with leading pharmaceutical companies to accelerate the translation of ECM-based insights into clinical solutions.Position summary:We are seeking an accomplished and innovative Associate Director to drive the progression of antibodies and antibody-based conjugates for oncology and/or fibrotic indications. This strategic role will focus on the discovery, engineering, and optimization of antibody formats tailored for targeted delivery of cytotoxic drugs, radiolabels and/or modified effector function. It will also involve direct project leadership and matrix management of an associated project team. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing our biologics pipeline, integrating antibody engineering with ECM-based disease biology and translational strategy.Key Responsibilities:Oversee antibody discovery campaigns (immunization, high-throughput screening...) through hit-to-lead, lead optimization and towards declared candidate.Lead antibody engineering efforts, including selection, humanization, affinity maturation, and format optimization.Inform the design and production of antibodies with optimal properties for conjugation, stability, and tissue-specific targetingManage and mentor a project team of cross-functional scientists, fostering innovation and scientific excellence.Contribute to strategic planning, portfolio prioritization, and decision-making for oncology and fibrosis biologics.Interface with external collaborators, CROs, and academic partners to accelerate development timelines.Present data and program updates to internal leadership and external stakeholders.Your profilePhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or related field5+ years of experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, with a proven track record in antibody engineering and biologics drug development.Proven track record in pre-clinical antibody discovery towards clinical translation and/or partnering.Evidence of optimization for targeted monoclonal antibody therapies and/or antibody conjugates.A solid understanding of ADC principles, including MOA, linker-payload considerations and disease-specific targeting strategies.Experience with antibody screening, protein engineering, and biophysical characterization.Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.Familiarity with regulatory and CMC considerations for biologics and conjugates is highly desirable. Why us?Be part of a pioneering biotech transforming drug discovery through ECM biology.Contribute to the development of novel therapies for cancer and fibrosis using cutting-edge human-relevant models.Work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with opportunities to shape the future of targeted therapeutics. We offer a competitive package including private medical insurance, pension, bonus, and more.
