Overview

This role will see you playing a key leadership role in the Technology team, supporting the Discipline Leader across project leadership, business development, people management and strategy. You will work with technology experts across specialisms such as digital strategy, experience analysts, smart buildings, smart cities, digital twins, digital infrastructure and data analytics.

Responsibilities

• Lead project delivery on behalf of the technology discipline, support delivery teams with project engagement, and act as the technical authority for final review and sign-off.
• Promote the discipline and engage with senior management to support the discipline strategy.
• Support the Discipline Leader in identifying new clients and workstreams, and cross-sell other Buro Happold services.
• Consult with clients, collaborators and stakeholders to capture requirements and shape tailored solutions that consider up-to-date technology and integration with other services and disciplines.
• Contribute to consultative work with an understanding of business drivers for digital technology, helping clients develop visions, briefs and strategies for subsequent design work.
• Manage bid development requests, preparing market capability information, roadmaps and budgets.
• Advocate smart building and city technologies and develop strategies aligned with the client’s development goals.
• Monitor project finances and manage time and resources within the team.
• Mentorship and line management of junior staff.
• Assist in knowledge management, training and team support collateral.

Qualifications and Experience

• Significant experience in a Technology role focused on the built environment.
• Experience leading the development of technology infrastructures (e.g., Smart Building Technology, Passive ICT infrastructure, Structured Cabling, Wireless Networks, IoT) from brief to specification and tender support.
• Evidence of project leadership and client interaction.
• Experience in business development, ideally with an existing client network.
• Relevant industrial qualifications and an interest in pursuing professional registration with a relevant body.
• Expertise in a specific field of information technology, ideally with design experience.
