Reporting to the Head of Commercial Management, this role will lead on the contractual and commercial management for the associated projects.
Due to the strict security requirements, candidates must be a UK National and will need to progress through security clearance.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Familiar with the nuclear site licence conditions and the nuclear baseline philosophy.
- Good understanding of the UK regulatory framework.
- Developing contract administration manuals, processes, and procedures.
- Understanding and aligning to the contract management standards, assuring that these comply with the selected T&Cs in their chosen contract suite.
- Assuring that there is full compliance with the contract management standards and contractual terms and conditions in the execution of the contract administration activities.
- Managing commercial relationships and ways of working with contractors and or consultants to ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of works and services.
- Managing contractual negotiations and provide guidance to Project Manager and/or Services Manager, where necessary.
- Managing change through the internal change management process and governance.
- Reviewing and acceptance of subcontractors and acceptance of subcontract documents in line with the contract.
- Certification of payments including an assessment of defined costs for NEC4 option A, target cost, option C and working knowledge of option E and F.
- Reviewing forecasts prepared by the contractor (or consultants) and assess the pain share or gainshare due to the contractor in respect of NEC4 option C or D contracts.
- Undertaking delay damages calculations if required.
- Establishing category/programme contract management strategies, and review and approve individual contract management strategies.
- Managing KPI’s in incentive schedules within NEC4 contracts and review contractor performance against these.
- Managing defects process in accordance with NEC4.
- Reviewing contractor and or consultant compensation event applications, review of quotations for compensation events and subsequent assessments thereof and early warning notifications.
- When required, review the application for payment to ensure alignment with the contractually agreed terms and conditions.
You’ll need to have:
- Qualified to a degree level or equivalent experience and membership of appropriate professional body.
- Practical working knowledge of the NEC4 suite of contracts.
- Extensive experience of contract management on major programmes.
- Experience of process plant, MEP services, building and fit out preferable.
- Experience of managing design consultants and design process beneficial.
- Experience of working in a fast-moving project environment essential.
- Previous experience of working in a highly regulated industry such as the nuclear sector.
