More About The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Director to join our team, leading the day-to-day client relationship and strategic direction for some of the biggest brands in the P&G portfolio: Gillette, King C Gillette, Braun Female, and Braun Male. These brands are renowned for their fame-driving work, consistently leading both the category and the cultural conversation – exemplified by Gillette's recent "The Best a Man Can Get" reboot with Tom Grennan.
This pivotal role requires a professional with a strong background in FMCG/big brand environments, capable of navigating complex client needs and driving impactful campaigns that resonate broadly. The successful candidate will be a culturally connected individual with a keen understanding of consumer behavior and the broader cultural context, leveraging these insights to inform strategy and push creative boundaries. You will be responsible for leading and mentoring a dedicated team, managing significant budgets, and ensuring the seamless delivery of large-scale, integrated campaigns that achieve measurable ROI.
A critical aspect of this role involves expertise in talent, partnership, and influencer, alongside a robust understanding of the earned media landscape. You will be instrumental in developing innovative strategies that continue to drive brand fame and engagement.
What You'll Do
- Client Leadership: Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact, fostering strong relationships and providing excellent client service and strategic counsel for these iconic brands – client relationship with Burson stretches over 30 years.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of up to 5 direct reports, ensuring high performance and collaborative execution, reporting into a Director level.
- Strategic & Creative Development: Drive the development of insightful strategic and creative plans that deliver fame-driving work, collaborating effectively with internal channel experts to deliver integrated solutions.
- Campaign Delivery: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of large-scale campaigns, ensuring they are on time, within budget, and achieve defined ROI and results.
- Influencer & Partnership Expertise: Possess experience in identifying, engaging, and managing talent, partnerships, and influencers to amplify brand messages and reach, particularly in high-profile, culturally relevant campaigns.
- Financial Acumen: Demonstrate excellent budget management skills, including proficient contracting and financial oversight.
- Earned Media Focus: Navigate and leverage the earned media environment to maximise brand visibility and impact, contributing to category and cultural leadership.
- Client Leadership Excellence: Proven track record in managing complex client relationships, offering strategic counsel, and delivering high-impact work across long-standing partnerships—such as a 30+ year relationship with Burson for P&G brands.
- Team Leadership & Development: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team (up to 5 direct reports), fostering collaboration and reporting into senior leadership.
- Strategic & Creative Direction: Strong background in shaping insight-led, fame-driving strategies and creative campaigns that push boundaries and connect with culture and consumer behavior.
- Integrated Campaign Execution: End-to-end experience overseeing large-scale, cross-channel campaigns—ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and aligned with performance metrics and ROI.
- Influencer & Talent Partnerships: Deep expertise in talent, influencer, and partnership strategy—driving cultural relevance and reach through credible, impactful collaborations.
- Financial Stewardship: Skilled in managing significant budgets with accountability for contracts, forecasting, and financial performance across high-value client accounts.
- Earned Media Expertise: Robust understanding of the earned media landscape with a proven ability to craft stories that break through and maintain cultural leadership in competitive categories.
- FMCG & Big Brand Experience: A strong foundation working within fast-paced, high-profile environments—particularly FMCG—where agility, innovation, and brand stewardship are key to success
