Position Overview
This position is responsible for leading the contracting activities for PCH EMEA. The role serves as a strategic business partner to Catalent’s Business Development, Site Operations and Legal teams and will lead the development and execution of contracts with new and existing customers, ensuring that Catalent has solid agreements across the PCH portfolio with business terms reflecting both Catalent’s and our customers’ interests.
Responsibilities
- Lead the negotiation of complex, high-value contracts in partnership with Business Development, Legal, PCH sites and other functional leads to achieve timely deal closure and growth.
- Track all contracts being negotiated for PCH.
- Mitigate risk by understanding proposed terms and conditions and development of contract language to meet business needs.
- Identify and communicate risk areas throughout the negotiation lifecycle and renewal process. Escalate issues appropriately.
- Drive compliance with Legal, organizational and departmental policies and procedures with adherence to processes and business rules.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to others on the team and cross-functionally, including BD team members leading other contract negotiations.
- Provide ad-hoc support in negotiating complex pricing arrangements and resolving disputes when escalated, including drafting and formalizing resolution agreements such as settlements.
- Contribute to the continuous enhancement of customer satisfaction.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or MSc degree.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical, medical device or food manufacturing, with experience in commercial operations, business management and/or business development.
- Experience negotiating complex agreements with senior executive-level stakeholders or decision-makers is required.
- Relevant industry knowledge of drug product development and/or consumer product development, analytical research and development, project scale-up, product manufacturing, quality, validations, and regulatory.
- Analytical, financial skills, business acumen.
- Superior customer services skills and professional demeanor.
- Proficient in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts.
- Familiarity with risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Financial acumen.
- Fluent in English.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated, collaborative, action oriented.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
Travel
- Some travel may be required (up to 20%).
