Associate Director, Country Partnership Delivery – London, United Kingdom | full time

BioNTech has already had a major impact on human health through the Covid-19 vaccine, preventing an estimated 6 million deaths. We are accelerating our clinical trials and partnerships to deliver personalised cancer immunotherapies and other pipeline programs, building new delivery structures in partner countries in concert with global teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification, development, and execution of strategic partnerships across the UK and globally, aligned with organisational goals
  • Drive end-to-end delivery of partnership initiatives, including opportunity scoping, stakeholder coordination, contracting, and implementation
  • Build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support effective delivery and integration with clinical and operational teams
  • Monitor partnership performance through budget oversight, KPI tracking, and use of qualitative and quantitative analytics to inform decision-making and ensure accountability

Professional Experience

  • Significant/several years’ experience of strategy and/or operational delivery within a clinical trials, clinical services, healthcare or government setting with substantial responsibility for outcomes and resources
  • Experience of partnership working across internal and external organizations to deliver defined objectives/services
  • Commercial experience in the negotiation, agreement and management of service delivery contracts or partnership agreements
  • Experience of creating new strategies, structures and operational solutions including service growth/transformation
  • Track record of delivering or supporting clinical trials in a commercial or academic sponsor, CRO or national institution

Skills/Knowledge/Attributes

  • Educated to minimum undergraduate degree or equivalent level in a relevant field (e.g. sciences, business, healthcare)
  • Proven capability to drive growth or implement transformative changes in a service or initiative to effectively overcome a specific challenge
  • Engaging, leading and influencing across team, functional and organizational boundaries, demonstrating leadership to improve performance and achieve specific objectives
  • Creative problem solving and a demonstrable record of creating new strategies, structures and operational solutions for others to follow
  • Willingness to challenge the status quo / traditional approaches
  • Operating with a start-up mindset and dealing with ambiguity
  • Project management and effective prioritization in managing multiple competing priorities
  • A working knowledge of the global clinical trial landscape is beneficial

Reporting and location

Reporting to the Director of Health Strategy and Policy in the UK partnership team, based in the UK (working remotely), with regular travel to the London office. Semi-regular travel to UK and/or global partner sites; occasional travel to Mainz, Germany head office. Travel and expenses are reimbursed.
