Associate Director – Head of Rural Practice
Location: Monmouthshire (with flexibility for Cheltenham, Cardiff, and remote working)
Salary: Competitive + Excellent Bonus Scheme
A leading local property consultancy is seeking an experienced and ambitious rural chartered surveyor to head up its Rural Practice division. This is a senior leadership role offering the opportunity to shape strategy, lead a high-performing team, and deliver exceptional client service across a broad range of rural property matters.
The Role
As Associate Director – Head of Rural Practice, you’ll take ownership of rural professional services, including valuations, estate and land management, and strategic consultancy. You’ll work closely with agency, planning, and development teams, and play a key role in business growth and client relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the Rural Practice team.
- Deliver RICS ‘Red Book’ valuations and strategic advice.
- Manage landowner matters including CPO and utility compensation.
- Oversee rural and development property agency.
- Ensure compliance with RICS standards and manage client agreements.
- Represent the firm in professional networks and events.
- Drive business development and identify new opportunities.
Candidate Profile
- MRICS qualified with 5+ years’ rural practice experience.
- RICS Registered Valuer; FAAV membership desirable.
- Strong technical knowledge of valuation, land management, and rural legislation.
- Proven leadership and client relationship skills.
- Commercially astute with a proactive approach to business development.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- Full UK driving licence and own transport.
