We are recruiting for a primary plant focused Associate Director to join our UK Transmission and Distribution department. The role involves HV design for electrical power projects at transmission and distribution voltage levels, focusing on primary plant design for infrastructure, grid connections, and private networks at 132 kV to 400 kV.Typical projects include feasibility studies, optioneering, FEED, detailed design, and design assurance on substations and infrastructure. Work involves projects with transmission network operators in UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and the Middle East, including connections of renewable generation and hyperscale data centers.The role also includes support for bidding, project, and quality management.Required/Essential Skills & ExperienceExperience in the energy sector with consultancy, contractor, or utility companies, including clients like National Grid, SHET, SSE, SPT in UK or Ireland.10+ years in FEED design, detailed design, or owner’s engineer roles in HV substation design.Design experience at concept, FEED, and detailed stages for HV infrastructure.Understanding of electrical AC HV Plant infrastructure and equipment (AIS and GIS).National Grid Design Assurance authorisation (LCDAE, CDAE, TP137, TP141).Flexibility to work across multiple projects.Chartered status and a full driver’s license.Experience mentoring or leading engineering teams.Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.Desirable Skills & ExperienceProject management skills, including budget and quality control.Proposal and bid development experience.Teamwork and client-focused mindset.Knowledge of secondary systems, control systems, transformers, HVDC, interconnectors, and protection & control systems.We are committed to diversity and inclusion and offer support through our Disability Confident Employer scheme. #J-18808-Ljbffr
