Overview

We are looking for an Associate Director to act as a technical lead on our projects and bring your ability to successfully deliver a wide range of exciting local authority projects in the UK. The Liveable Places team works with local authorities and private clients across the UK to help them achieve their placemaking ambitions, delivering schemes from concept to delivery including public realm, highway engineering, inclusive design, traffic engineering, road safety, traffic signals, pedestrian/traffic modelling, active travel, and parking. The Liveable Places team is based in offices across the country with over 200 staff, with growth planned. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career through exposure to a wide variety of experiences.

We have a strong track record working closely with clients and this role provides a pivotal position within Liveable Places to support and steer its growth going forward.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical lead on projects and contribute to successful delivery of local authority schemes in the UK.
  • Lead and manage project teams and individuals, and drive project outcomes on a range of schemes from concept to delivery.
  • Engage with stakeholders including public sector officials, members of the public, and other senior colleagues.
  • Apply experience across highway, transport, traffic signals, and road safety engineering to deliver high-quality outcomes.

What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate

  • A civil engineering degree or equivalent
  • Chartered membership of a relevant professional body
  • Proven ability to lead and manage project teams and individuals
  • Proven ability to successfully deliver projects
  • Proven track record in project management and financial control
  • Passion for mentoring and developing talent
  • Highway, transport, traffic signals and road safety engineering experience
  • Excellent ability to engage with stakeholders including public sector officials, the public, and other senior colleagues
