This is a rare opportunity for a strategic and commercially minded fundraising leader to join an organisation dedicated to supporting the serving and veteran armed forces community and their families.As Associate Director of Fundraising, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering a bold and sustainable income strategy, with responsibility for major corporate partnerships and high-profile strategic events. You will lead senior managers across several fundraising functions, building long-term partnerships and embedding a high-performance culture across the team.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership\*Lead and deliver a multi-year partnership fundraising strategy that drives income growth and diversification across industries and corporate organisations.\*Build senior relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally to support income growth and strengthen the charity’s impact on the armed forces community.\*Deliver a programme of strategic events that engage senior stakeholders and drive both income and awareness.\*Secure 6–7 new corporate partnerships per year, while strengthening existing ones.\*Identify new opportunities and develop proposals to grow income from existing and prospective sources.\*Deputise for the Director of Fundraising when required.Team Management and Development\*Lead and inspire a high-performing team, setting clear objectives, KPIs and a culture of accountability.\*Champion professional development, innovation and continuous improvement across all fundraising functions.\*Foster an inclusive environment that maximises cross-team working and income potential.Financial and Operational Management\*Lead income forecasting, budgeting and performance monitoring across all fundraising functions.\*Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations, internal policies, data protection and ethical standards.Collaboration\*Work closely with senior colleagues across Operations, Communications, Finance and Strategy to ensure alignment between income generation and the charity’s service delivery to the armed forces community.\*Stay abreast of trends and best practice in fundraising to maintain cutting-edge strategies.What We’re Looking ForEssential Competencies\*Deciding and initiating action\*Leading and supervising\*Persuading and influencing\*Presenting and communicating information\*Delivering results and meeting expectations\*Planning and organising\*Entrepreneurial and commercial thinkingQualifications & Experience\*Educated to degree level or equivalent CPD portfolio.\*Extensive experience in business development, sales or fundraising at senior level.\*Proven track record of financial management and budgets.\*Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and experience influencing at senior levels.\*Target-driven and tenacious — thrives on KPIs, pipelines and securing partnerships.\*Confident and persuasive communicator able to pitch and represent the organisation at the highest level.Desirable\*Knowledge of the defence, aerospace, infrastructure or government sectors.\*Experience in a charity or social impact environment, particularly supporting serving or veteran armed forces communities.Other Information\*Ability to work flexibly, including some out-of-hours commitments and nationwide travel as needed.How to ApplyIf you are a senior fundraising or business development leader with a proven track record of securing major partnerships and driving income growth — and you are passionate about supporting the armed forces community — we’d love to hear from you.
