Indirect line management of 1 Senior Associate.Responsible for recruiting, retaining and developing team to be able to support business objectives.Responsible for team objectives, performance appraisals and career development.Responsible for inputting to business planning and budgeting, including identifying headcount requirements based on growth forecasts.Nurture wellbeing of the team and invest time in building relationships on a personal level and create comfortable, open and honest two-way communications to improve effectiveness and fulfilment.Financial ControlOversight of monthly and quarterly accounting and financial reporting prepared and reviewed by the team within agreed deadlines. This includes information prepared in accordance with UK GAAP and IFRS, as well as reporting for Solvency II and expense analysis for product pricing.Oversight of the completion and documentation of monthly and quarterly controls completed by the team over the validity of the financial data.Oversight of the compliance of the financial reporting processes with the Internal Control framework, and with the Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) legislation in respect of key controls affecting financial information provided to support tax computations.Oversight of statutory financial statements prepared and reviewed by the team for property subsidiaries.Ensure oversight of financial statements prepared by third party service providers is completed by the team.Presentation of Quarterly expenses (actual vs. budget) across whole Prudential portfolio to Life Insurance Office.Monitoring and improving, where necessary, the processes, systems, controls and procedures associated with the activities of the team.Monitoring and assessing risk and controls in respect of all aspects of financial transactions associated with the financial operations of the funds.Guiding and advising colleagues on complex accounting mattersRelationship ManagementManagement of relationships with clients (Prudential UK and M&G plc finance, accounting and tax teams),Management of relationships with fund administration service providers and property managers, ensuring level of delivery is in line with service level agreements.Management of relationships with auditors and financial due diligence service providers.Maintenance of strong working relationships with fund managers and other internal stakeholders, and ensuring that the team is acting as an effective business partner.Business Development & Transaction SupportSupporting the growth ambitions of the business through involvement in investor presentations, pitches, and due diligence visits.Responsible for supporting the business with complex transactions, including managing financial due diligence and SPA review for corporate acquisitions.Provide advice to PFF colleagues in determining appropriate accounting treatment.Review PFF transaction memos, apply challenge and ensure consistency of approach to accounting issues across teams.Input and review of the proposed operating models prior to sign-off.Projects and Technical AccountingResponsible for advising on complex accounting and fund pricing issues across the fund range, and for leading the conclusion on such issues through a technical forum of senior finance staff within the business.Work with senior stakeholders and deliver projects on behalf of PFF with a high degree of independence.Facilitate optimisation initiatives, guide and encourage collaboration across the teamOtherContribute to the management objectives for the Property Fund Finance team.Provision of cover to Head of Property Fund Finance and other Associate Directors/Directors.Completion of control self-certification sign offs and other compliance tasks.Input into management information reporting.What we are looking for:ACA/ACCA/ACMA qualified accountant (or equivalent) with significant experience in real estate investment management with exposure to real estate fund accounting under UK GAAP and IFRSExperience of managing teamsStrong communication and relationship management skillsStrong analytical skills demonstrating an ability to understand, question and challenge a range of financial dataSelf-motivated with a diligent and detailed approach to completing tasksStrong organisational and prioritisation skillsFlexible and proactive approach to problem solving and working well with the larger teamExperience of all Microsoft Office applications and (preferably) Yardi Voyager systemExposure to Life insurance financial reporting including Solvency II would be beneficialRecruiter: Sarah HawkinsJob Level: ManagerWe have a diverse workforce and an inclusive culture at M&G plc, underpinned by our policies and our employee-led networks who provide networking opportunities, advice and support for the diverse communities our colleagues represent.
