OverviewAssociate Director (Procurement) - Renewable Energy Capital Programmes & Projects at Turner & Townsend. Reporting to an established Renewable Energy Procurement lead, you will help clients deliver major capital programmes and projects for green technologies to provide sustainable energy sources for customers and the community.ResponsibilitiesLead procurement engagements across multiple programmes, projects, and commissions, helping clients progress towards greener, sustainable outcomes across renewable energy asset types.Deliver and continually improve clients’ performance and meet targets across key capital procurement themes.Drive the development of the renewable energy procurement services provided by Turner & Townsend.Lead and drive business development for renewable energy procurement and the marketing requirements of the wider Contract Services capability.Provide hands-on leadership and drive delivery of both team and wider business targets in Turner & Townsend, including business generation, service excellence, and people growth objectives.Act as a business leader, coach, and developer of talent and exemplify Turner & Townsend’s leadership behaviours.Skills and QualificationsExperience embedding excellence into end-to-end procurement activities with core skills in end-to-end procurement, supply chain management, and/or contract management.Major capital programmes and projects procurement strategy and lifecycle management; contract management; supplier evaluation strategies; supply chain management; contract terms, negotiation, and awards.Experience with relevant technologies such as hydro-electric, wind (onshore/offshore), tidal, energy from waste, hydrogen, solar, carbon capture, net zero, biofuels, geothermal, CHP, and related areas (desirable but not essential).Degree related to Procurement, Supply Chain, Sustainability, Business Management, or similar; Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply (or willingness to work towards); Security Clearance (SC) – currently valid or can be reinstated (not essential).ExperienceWider procurement consulting experience from client, contractor, or professional services organisations.Experience in responsible sourcing areas including human rights, environment, health and safety, anti-bribery and corruption, and labour practices.Good understanding of the UK and international energy sector, related technologies, and regulatory environments is desirable.Experience of successful supplier engagement.BehavioursConfident, independent, and able to work autonomously without supervision.Ability to manage work, business development, and career development activities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Experienced in compiling reports and research documentation.Client-facing with ability to collaborate with stakeholders.Good IT skills; interest in tools, systems, and data.Driven to achieve results; able to collaborate within a team to achieve outcomes.The OfferTurner & Townsend supports hybrid working to balance work and life.
