Please visit our website: www.turnerandtownsend.com Overview / RoleYou will be involved in delivering two services:Expert Witness services, by assisting our quantum experts in delivering expert quantum reports for adjudication, litigation, and other forms of dispute resolutionRecovery service by assisting our contract and commercial specialists in providing strategic advice to clients whose project and major programmes are in commercial distressSuccessful applicants will work in a team undertaking detailed analysis of construction projects in the UK and internationally. We are looking for an ambitious and driven individual to join an experienced team of construction experts with a strong brand across our marketplace. We are looking for an Associate Director who is experienced in supporting matters of quantum and/or establishing themselves as an expert, to supplement our leading team across both Recovery and Expert Witness services. The successful individual will have the opportunity to establish their own path to becoming a leading Expert through a dedicated mentoring programme and the opportunity to lead on strategic objectives and to grow our market presence with direct links to our leadership team in the UK. The work will require high standards that can withstand scrutiny by other parties. Responsibilitiesrequire a forensic and exploratory mindsethave a strong knowledge of the construction industryunderstand construction contracts and the lawvalue transparency and collaborationable to work independently and adapt to the working method of otherslead on development of a contract and commercial strategy to recover performance of distressed projects or major programmes in line with client outcomesprovide direction to staff and support interfaces with the client and other consultants at all project stageslead the drafting of detailed expert witness reports for use in formal dispute resolution proceedingsstay abreast of developments within own technical area of expertisemanage stakeholders with the client and at all levels of the supply chainreview and assess project records to establish quantum associated with claims and disputesutilise relevant applications and technologies (e.g., BCIS, Cost-X, CEMAR)offer strategic advice on proceeding or amending the basis of claimsupport clients, lawyers and counsel in developing positions where requiredprovide guidance to staff working on specific taskssupport the interface with the client and other consultants throughout project stagesact as an ambassador championing Turner & Townsend’s Contract Services QualificationsRelevant construction and engineering industry experience (in the region of +10 years)A construction-related degree and/or legal qualificationExperience in leading the pursuit of claims up or down the supply-chain, leading to negotiated resolutionAbility to understand and articulate Client requirements and desired outcomesCritical analysis of project and major programme performance to identify root causes of distressProven ability to develop a contract and commercial strategy to recover performanceEffective stakeholder management with the Client and at all levels of the supply-chain, including chairing meetingsReview and assess contemporaneous project records to establish quantumWorking knowledge of applications and technologies in quantity surveying and commercial management (e.g., BCIS, Cost-X, CEMAR)Critical analysis of strengths and weaknesses of Client claims and advice on next stepsAbility to assist clients, lawyers and counsel in developing positionsLead drafting of detailed expert witness reports for dispute resolutionStaying abreast of developments within own technical areaProvide direction to staff and support client interfaces across project stagesAct as an ambassador for Contract Services Next StepsOur recruitment is via our dedicated portal on Smart Recruiters.
