OverviewAssociate Director – (SSG) Strategy and Execution – EY Parthenon. The SSG (Software Strategy Group) sits within the Strategy and Execution team, EY’s leading market team providing Technology, Operations and Financial advice to corporate and private equity firms who intend to acquire, divest or restructure businesses. The team comprises advisors with specialist commercial, operations, software, technology, cyber, finance and deal / transaction experience from industry, advisory and audit backgrounds. SSG has competencies in Product and Technology, Enterprise Technology and Cybersecurity.As part of EY, you’ll have the chance to build a career with global scale and an inclusive culture. You’ll advise clients across software and tech-enabled services sectors, supporting in developing and executing strategies for transactions, and applying your technical skills across the M&A transaction lifecycle including pre-deal diligence, portfolio review and post-deal value creation engagements.The opportunity sits in the Product and Technology competency of the SSG team.ResponsibilitiesOur Associate Directors manage teams that engage with clients on a variety of topics, ranging from diligence to strategy assignments. Key responsibilities include:DiligenceProduct and Technology diligence: market-leading diligence of companies in the Software Economy, assessing product capabilities, road map, software architecture, technical debt, R&D organisation, and software development processes to identify risks and opportunities for investors.Integrated diligence: combining product and technology diligence with guiding commercial due diligence to provide a cohesive market and operational view of the target investment.StrategySoftware development optimisation: assess a software development organisation for capacity, talent, process, and provide recommendations to improve productivity, timeliness, predictability, quality, and alignment with strategy.Technology strategy and roadmap: study technology roadmaps, assess cost, risk, and alignment with objectives, and help build a suitable technology strategy and architecture roadmap, including re-platforming or transformational initiatives.Product strategy and roadmap: examine product roadmaps and provide recommendations based on market research, capabilities, cost, risk, and technology foundations; may include post-merger consolidation or rationalisation of a product portfolio.Skills and attributes for success, and experience in pre- and post-deal engagements, leading teams, and delivering insights are required.QualificationsA bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with outstanding academic performance.
