OverviewThis is an exciting time for AECOM as we continue to build our global business. We are a significant presence in the London Design and Construction industry.As an Associate Director you will have the opportunity to contribute to leading and shaping the structural engineering team. You will also be a key member of the Buildings + Places team with an opportunity to grow into a role to help drive the growth of the business across the South East and London Region. A significant part of your role will be client facing, alongside managing and running projects. You would also be expected to contribute to the identification of new project leads, securing new and repeat business. You will therefore need to be adept at engaging with clients and other professionals at the inception stage of projects and use your engineering expertise to make a significant contribution to emerging design concepts.What you'll do!We would expect you to hold existing experience in delivery of projects from inception through to completion and an ability to run and manage resources in the delivery of these projects. Ideally you would hold existing client knowledge and have emerging as well as selected established relationships with the hope of utilising and growing these relationships to secure opportunities for AECOM. The immediate work for any successful applicant would focus on working on heritage, refurbishment, and fit out projects.ResponsibilitiesLead and shape the structural engineering team within the Buildings + Places group.Be a key member of the London/South East team and contribute to business growth.Engage with clients at project inception, identify new leads, secure opportunities, and manage projects.Utilise engineering expertise to contribute to emerging design concepts and project delivery from inception to completion.Maintain and grow existing client relationships and develop new ones to support business opportunities.Focus immediate work on heritage, refurbishment, and fit-out projects.QualificationsChartered Engineer (CEng), Member of either the Institution of Civil Engineers and/or the Institution of Structural Engineers.Excellent knowledge of standard engineering practices, techniques, procedures, and structural principles.Current experience of leading, managing and running structural engineering design projects as the principal point of contact.Emerging leadership skills, including business development, client relationship management, technical leadership, team building and motivation.Excellent communication skills including the ability to write compelling proposals and deliver engaging presentations to existing and prospective clients.Desirable attributesA good appreciation of the construction property market in London with a view on refurbishment, heritage and cultural sector and the drivers for growth in the region.The ability to obtain DIO/MoD security clearanceAdditional InformationCall to action: Interested in the role or curious about life at AECOM?
