A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a qualified and commercially minded Town Planner to join a thriving, multidisciplinary planning team as an Associate Director. What You’ll Be Doing
As an Associate Director, you will:
- Manage a broad range of planning projects and applications.
- Represent clients at appeals, hearings, and public inquiries.
- Lead on site promotion, development plan/policy work, and local plan representations.
- Build and strengthen relationships through networking and 1:1 client meetings.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to team growth.
- Contribute to business development through tenders, proposals, and budget management.
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you should:
- Hold Chartered RTPI membership.
- Have 8–10+ years’ experience, primarily in the private sector.
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of the UK planning system.
- Possess strong written, verbal, and technical communication skills.
- Be confident, proactive, and motivated to develop your own client base.
- Have a full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- Experience of public inquiries, hearings, and appeals.
- Prior responsibility for project budgets and billing.
- Demonstrated business development and team mentoring capabilities.
